Coppafeel! Check Your Boobs Campaign

When writing posts on products whether they are beauty, lifestyle or fashion etc and to think someone will read your posts and purchase those products or recommend to others is something most bloggers love to think but what if you wrote a post on a subject that could change someone's life...literally.

One of my New Year's resolutions is to really get involved with certain charities and campaigns that can make a difference to others and not just by donating money. So here's my first one, a charity that I feel is possibly one of the most important charities out there and that's Coppafeel!

Coppafeel! was founded by Kris Hallenga (and her twin sister, Maren) just one month after Kris, who at the age of 23, when most of us are mainly worrying about what to wear to that party the person you fancy is attending or looking in the mirror thinking why do we still have spots (?!), was diagnosed with breast cancer, and if that wasn't the worse possible news to receive she was then informed it was -is- stage four which is the most advanced.
But how is that possible when breast cancer is for older women right? Wrong.
If you have breasts which is pretty much 100% of us including men! Then you are/can be prone to breast cancer, whatever age you are.
Almost 50,000 women and 400 men get diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year. 5% of those diagnosed are already at stage 4....there is no stage 5. Which is why checking your boobs is so important to make sure you stay as far away from stage 4 as possible.

Now instead of Kris locking herself away from the world and letting it take full control of her life she decided to take advantage of this diagnosis and get the message out there that breast cancer can effect people of all ages but mainly get her message to the youngsters.

I recently watched Giovanna Fletcher's latest vlog where she is informing her Sister -In-Law Carrie Fletcher of the importance of checking your boobs and discussing Coppafeel!
Giovanna and Carrie are official Boob Ninja's who help to spread the word as much as they can.
After watching this I thought it would be amazing if I could somehow get involved and what best way to do this then include on my blog and get the message out there to as many people as possible. Which goes back to the beginning of this post where I mentioned 'imagine if someone read your post and you change their life...literally.'

After excitedly deciding to do this I emailed the lovely people at Coppafeel! and expressed my interest in getting involved and publishing a post on my blog. Within hours the lovely Sinead replied to my email and made it very clear how happy she was for me to get involved and really help to spread the message.
Sinead informed me their latest campaign is #Showerhijack where they are trying to encourage as many of us as possible to check our boobs in the shower by including the 'check your boobs' and signs/symptoms on shower gel bottles.
This campaign is supported by I Love.....Cosmetics.
It really doesn't take long to check and can literally be life saving.

Shampoo. Condition. Coppafeel. Rinse. Job Done.

Another one of their campaigns is #Brahijack and this one is encouraging lingerie retailers to include a tag in bras reminding us to do that all important check.
You probably don't know this but some retailers have actually started to do this including Curvy Kate (the first to start this campaign) and Asos.
Actually there are quite a few partners who help with the Coppafeel! campaign who you maybe didn't know were involved, I'll include a link to these below with the other important links for you to check out.

So the message here is to check your boobs! Check for the signs and symptoms and if you aren't too sure about something or have concerns then please go to your local GP. For the sake of 30 minutes out of your day you could be saving your life.

I've included below the all important links to help you check those boobs and also get involved with Coppafeel! Help spread the word to your friends, family and work colleagues and don't forget it's not just women who can be diagnosed with breast cancer almost 400 men are diagnosed in the UK every year.

Tanya Burr Macaroon Lip gloss - Christmas Special Edition

I have been so impressed with the Tanya Burr Deck The Hauls Advent Calendar so far and I'm only on Day Two! The First day was an Eye Shimmer (You can check this out on my Instagram) and today's was this amazing Christmas Edition Lip gloss.
I was wondering whether or not to post about this product as it's only available with the advent calendar - I really hope it becomes part of the all year round collection - but I just had to show it off as it's gorgeous.

The lip gloss is the shade 'Macaroon' and is a candy frost pink, it's so pretty and perfect for Winter. The scent is also something that has made me excited about this product as it smells like sweets in a pick 'n' mix! Anything that resembles sweets is a definite winner for me.

Going by the first two products from the calendar so far, I'm looking forward to see what is behind the next 10 windows. I'm really pleased I decided to get a beauty advent calendar this year and will definitely be looking at others next Christmas.

I'll  be keeping an eye out on Superdrug's website to see if they do decide to make this product available all year round as I know it'll be popular.

I'll be posting every product from the Deck the Hauls Advent Calendar over on my Instagram page :-)

Imperial Leather Sweets Range Shower Gels

As soon as I saw these in Boots, I knew I had to try them!
Anything that has the scent of sweets definitely gets my attention and at £1 each they are a must.

These new shower gels are inspired by those sweets we use to get in our pick n mix after school (When you actually got your moneys worth!)
Sherbet Lemon, Fruit Salad and Marshmallow.
Personally my favourite one is the Marshmallow, I am obsessed with Flumps!

I have quite sensitive skin so have to be careful when using fragranced products but I haven't had any problem using these, they are silky smooth and the scents are delicious, you can still smell them in the bathroom even after your shower.

I believe there is also another sweet product which is Spearmints, I can imagine that smells just as good as the others.

You can get your sweet scented shower gel here or in your local Boots.

Tanya Burr Beauty Advent Calendar

The Christmas beauty advent calendars are definitely popular this year. I've read numerous posts on all of them and wish I could buy some of the more luxurious ones.
I've not had a beauty advent calendar before and definitely wanted to try one this year.
After browsing the internet to see which one I'd like to purchase I decided on the Tanya Burr Deck The Hauls 12 Days of Christmas Beauty Calendar.
Affordability did have quite a big factor in this choice at the time of buying it was £15 (which I am guessing is the same with most people) although it wasn't the main reason for me choosing this particular calendar.

I've been a fan of Tanya Burr for over a year now, I'm subscribed to her YouTube channel and enjoy watching her make up tutorials, vlogs and baking tutorials! (I love baking)
Her beauty products are also amazing, I love that the range caters for anybody and everybody.

Now, I'm obviously writing this post before I've opened the calendar to see which products are featured however I can guess what may be included. Nail polishes, lip gloss, eye shadows...?
It does actually tell you on the back of the calendar which products are included but I'm not looking at this as I think the whole reason of the advent calendar is the excitement of what is going to be behind the windows.

Looking at the calendar I'm really impressed with detail based on this being one of the more affordable ones you can tell there's still a lot that's been put into the calendar's design etc.

Along the top of the calendar it's a really nice glittery effect with the Tanya Burr logo and description. (Who doesn't love glitter?!)
The design is 'Tanya's House' with the products being behind the 'actual windows' which is cute.

I'm really looking forward to starting the calendar, I'm assuming it's a 12 day countdown to Christmas so I'll try and be patient and not start it on the 1st December! (I have a chocolate advent calendar to start from the beginning :) )

Make sure to follow my Instagram where I'll be posting a photo of every product from the calendar counting down to Christmas. (MaxineFrancis89)

Also let me know if you have purchased any of the beauty advent calendars and which one you chose this year.

The Disney Tag!

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will know how obsessed I am with Disney. I could actually talk about Disney 24/7! (Other super fans will understand this)
In May 2012 my fiancĂ© and I took the dream holiday to Walt Disney World and I've been itching to get back.
In the meantime there will be a few Disney posts which I'm looking forward to sharing.

The first one I want to do is the infamous 'Disney Tag' I've seen this a lot on YouTube and they always look fun. I've picked what I feel are the best set of questions, Here goes....

1. Favourite Disney Movie?
Beauty and The Beast - I've loved this Disney movie since I can remember. I actually cried when I met Belle at WDW!

2. Favourite Disney Character?
This is quite a hard one as like most people I have a favourite character in each Disney movie. OK I'm going to go with Stitch, Belle, Sebastian and Genie.

3. What Type of Disney Items Do You Collect The Most?
At the moment I'd say I collect the DVD's the most, I'm aiming to get pretty much every Disney movie on DVD, including the ones you don't really hear about. I'd love to collect the Disney Traditions ornaments but need somewhere to put them all!

4. Favourite Disney Song?
Again this is hard as every Disney movie has an amazing song but I'll go with A Whole New World, I See The Lights and Something There
.

5. Favourite Ride/Attraction at The Parks?
I loved Soarin' at Epcot I thought it was amazing so I think I'll go for that one. When we visited WDW the Mine Train at Magic Kingdom wasn't open so I can't wait to go on this when we go back!

6. What is Your Dream Job at Disney?
I'd love to work in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, seeing the little girls faces when they've been made into a Princess - so sweet!

7. Your Favourite Disney Memory?
I'm going to take it that this means when visiting the parks and I'd say my favourite memory was seeing 'The Sign' for the first time. It was the first of many times during our visit to WDW that I cried!

8. What's your saddest moment in any Disney Movie?
I think this is going to apply to most people but I think it has to be when Mufasa died in The Lion King, it gets me every time!

9. Which Disney Voice Actor Would You Like To Meet?
Unfortunately it wouldn't be possible but I'd say Robin Williams, he was brilliant as Genie and an incredible actor.

10. Which Disney Resort is Your Favourite?
I've only stayed at one and it was amazing and that was Port Orleans French Quarter, my dream would be to stay at The Grand Floridian, maybe one day we'll win the lottery!

11. Which Disney Princess Has The Best Sidekick?
I'd probably say Jasmine with Rajah just because no one would mess with a Princess with a tiger! He's sweet as well.

12. If You Could Say Anything to Walt Disney, What Would it Be?
I think i'd just thank him like a million times for creating the Disney brand and making pretty much every ones childhood amazing because even if you're not a huge Disney fan there's at least one movie that you like and reminds you of your childhood.

So that's my Disney tag and I have to admit it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be! It's hard to only have one answer to questions that you could make a list to.
I hope you enjoyed reading my answers, if you decide to do a Disney tag on your blog leave the link on the comments below so I can check it out.

See you real soon

Avon Colour Correcting Pearls

When I first started my blog I knew I wanted to write a post about this amazing product.
I'm obsessed a huge fan of Avon and I place an order at least every other brochure, I've tried pretty much every product they sell and stock up on products that suit my skin type.
I've got quite dry skin and as I'm also fair I'm prone to blemishes which can be a nightmare especially when going out. Therefore I have tried numerous amount of foundations to help cover the blemishes and also help with the dryness.
These little pearl balls are brilliant, I either put them on top of my foundation or if just popping out to the shops use them on their own as they are just as effective.

There are five different coloured pearls and each one helps to tackle discolourations;

Green Reduces: to neutralise redness.
Yellow Brightens: to neutralise purple tones and under eye circles.
Purple Revitalises: to counteract yellowness.
Peach Balances: to even out dark spots.
White Highlights: to illuminate the face

When brands release new products that seem too good to be true, they usually are so I was a little optimistic when I first ordered these. When I bought them they were on offer so I thought why not?! Everyone loves a bargain.
I decided to put them to the test when first trying them and not apply any base foundation, I was quite surprised with the results. My skin looked a lot more even and it reduced the redness quite significantly which I was very happy about as that was the main reason I bought them so any other benefits was a bonus. So when I then applied my base foundation and put this on top I was even more impressed.

As you probably would have guessed I'd definitely recommend Avon Colour Correcting Pearls!
They are currently on offer for the price I bought them for - £6!
I've added the link here for you to go check them out.

Let me know below if you also use the colour correcting pearls and if you are as happy about them as I am.

Here Goes Nothing...

Hey! Thank you for checking out my very first blog.....nervous much?!
I've been contemplating for a while now about starting a blog and thought I'd take the plunge and see how it goes.

A Little about me
I'm a 26 year old self confessed Disney addict, who enjoys reading, eating chocolate, watching films/tv series and Sunday Netflix binges. I'm currently engaged to my better half of nearly 10 years (I know!), we are starting to plan the wedding after Christmas so watch out for wedding blogs next year.
I work full time so I'll blog as much as I can, mainly during evenings and weekends.
I'm always over on Twitter and Instagram though so follow me on there for more posts and updates (see what I did there!)

Twitter - ChatterboxMax
Instagram - maxinefrancis89

I love watching YouTube videos and reading blogs, I'll maybe do a post in the near future of my favourite channels I'm subscribed to so watch this space.

One of the reasons that I wanted to start blogging is the community, I love meeting new people and having a good natter (slang for chat for those of you who may be reading this far afield) so it seemed like the perfect thing to do. Everyone seems super friendly and it's always nice to make new friends.

Another reason is whenever I come across anything whether it be a product or a place that takes my interest I like to recommend to other people and writing/posting blogs seems like the perfect way of doing this.

As I am completely new to this please bear with me! I'm still figuring out the best way to show off my blog and make a few tweaks here and there, any tips would be very appreciated! :-)

I'm going to leave my blog here before I start rambling.
You can follow me on the above or subscribe.

Thank you again for checking my first blog out and I'll see you on the next one!
